Has anyone been to see this movie yet?? We have tickets for New Year's Day!
I love Eggers and everyone I know (and trust, heh) who has seen it so far says it's amazing from every angle-- writing, acting, production, etc.

I'm going to guess this will be inspiring a lot of Victorian trends this year... I was already lowkey thinking of making it a goal to finally finish a 19th century corset I started long ago, sooooooo...
What about y'all??
Saw it in December and would really like to see it again. I didn't really have time to fully appreciate the costuming.
I don't know if I am able to watch the horror part of it (I am a chicken when it comes to that) but I really admire the costumes and need to have a closer look.
I just noticed this post after my introduction and how funny and connected we are. The costumes were a dream. The movie was beautifully crafted and intense.
Off topic to actual costume design but there was a scene where Nicholas Hoult wakes up a mess but then starts running through the halls cravat all done and although likely unintentional or a non linear timeline it made me laugh to think he stopped to make sure it was all in order.
Seen the movie - it’s a journey and is a lovely gothic horror with some….intense scenes lol.
The costumes are very well done! Especially Ellen’s ensemble and the men’s suiting is very well tailored/fitted providing each male character a distinct silhouette. The bonnets too are fantastic.
Hope you like the movie and looking forward to your thoughts on it!
